Halloween isn’t just for humans anymore!
Thanks to the 26th Annual Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade that took place on Saturday, October 26th, our favorite four legged friends got the chance to dress up with their owners. From superheroes to pirates, all sorts of dogs and costumes were on display this year. Our WonderWoof team was there taking photos of our favorite costumes (and keeping an eye out for any bow ties of course!). There were plenty of smiles and wagging tails. Check out some of our favorite costumes below.
May the force be with you. Riding in a stylish tie fighter, this adorable trio was having a blast saving the universe or just giggling. Dressed up as BB8 from the new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, this dog was one of our favorites. We had a hard time telling who was having the most fun!
BAAAAAAARK matey! This little pirate caught our eye right when we saw him. Not only was he dressed in the full pirate ensemble but look at that bow tie– now that’s a stylish dog! We have one the same color that can do more though! Digging up treasure is good exercise for healthy dogs after all.
If you are scared of spiders, look away because we had a hard time telling where the dog starts and the spider ends with this costume. The color of the spider and the dog’s fur works very well together making this one inspired costume. If any spider is going to come into the WonderWoof office, we hope it’s as cute as this one!
We are in Gotham after all so perhaps we shouldn’t have been surprised to see Batman, Catwoman, and Robin patrolling the park. We were all happy to see these superheroes join the fun on a break from protecting the city.
The classics are always good and clowns are certainly a staple when it comes to costumes. This dog showed us that humans aren’t the only ones who can get silly. We will take a black wet nose over a red squeaky one any day of the week, much more fun. Our bow ties don’t spin but we think a WonderWoof one would be a great addition to this costume!
Feed me, Seymour! We just couldn’t get enough of this Little Shop of Horrors inspired costume. Make sure you have enough dog food for this plant or things might get crazy!
Waka waka waka waka. One of our favorite video game costumes we saw this Pac-Man getup was as popular at the park as the game was in the 80’s.
Another classic. This little jack o’ lantern stood out to us for obvious reasons (cuteness overload). Not only is the costume great but what a stylish leash! From head to paw this dog is ready for Halloween!
Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you?! Looks like he’s hitching a ride in The Mystery Machine bus. We trust he will solve the mystery behind all the ghosts, goblins, and ghouls roaming Tompkins Square Dog Run!
Just what we needed on this rainy day. This family is ready to mop up any puppy pawprints after a rainy day in the park!
